Are you considering a career in nursing?
Nurses in rural and remote areas have great opportunities to develop and diversify their skills and make an extraordinary difference. The Centre for Rural and Remote Health (CRRH) jointly provides the nationally accredited James Cook University (JCU) Bachelor of Nursing Science program in Mount Isa and Cloncurry. JCU’s unique Nursing degree will enable you to gain distinctive rural, regional and tropical nursing skills that will set you apart from your peers.
Our Nursing teachers are leading JCU academics and nurses in contemporary practice at our local health facilities. CRRH graduates have received University Medals and School of Nursing prizes, testimony to the quality of teaching and practice experiences afforded to our students.
There is an opportunity benefit from JCU's recognition as both an internationally recognised University Department of Rural Health and as the Centre for Nursing and Midwifery Research, and the University's role as the World Health Organisation's Collaborating Centre for Nursing and Midwifery Education and Research Capacity Building.
