Facilities

JCU Murtupuni operates across four locations, with its main campus in Mount Isa and study centres in Cloncurry, Longreach, and Weipa. Centres are equipped with student accommodation, teaching spaces, Eduroam Wi-Fi access, clinical simulation skills rooms, and video and teleconferencing facilities to support learning and collaboration.

Library

Jointly funded by JCU and Queensland Health, the Yacca Library is a research and study hub for students, health researchers and health professionals working across the outback regions which offers:

  • Clinical texts and DVDs for loan;
  • Printing, scanning and photocopying facilities;
  • Computers;
  • Tutorial room with video conferencing equipment;
  • Eduroam wifi access; and
  • Quiet, air-conditioned study space.

Library staff are available to provide:

  • Research advice;
  • Proofreading services; and
  • Referencing help.

The Yacca Library is named after the Kalkadoon Black Cockatoo Dreaming.
