Helping Partners Build Research Capacity

17.10.22

Our research team is helping major partner, North West Hospital and Health Service (NWHHS), build its research capability.

Our  researchers are presenting one-hour weekly workshops, via Zoom, to support health professionals and trainees, as well as anyone else in the community, develop skills and interest in research and evidence-based practice.

The workshops over 11 weeks are based on feedback from a Research Interests Needs Assessment Survey developed by Murtupuni Centre for Rural and Remote Health Research Head, Associate Professor Santosh Jatrana (left), and NWHHS Professional Practice Support Unit Acting Nursing Director, Professional Practice, Julie Sorrell (right).

The workshops cover a wide range of topics  including identifying and developing health research questions, literature search, ethical and governance procedures and abstract writing.

This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in getting into academic research, with the first workshop tackling the topic that good answers start with good questions.
